Picture this: a slice of Britain’s most innovative electric bus parked smack dab in the London Transport Museum. Fancy a spin? Well, almost. The museum’s latest addition lets you step aboard a Transport UK London branded Wrightbus Electroliner, complete with an interactive driver’s cab and passenger space. No fumbling for your Oyster card needed.

Unveiled this September, this is the first time an electric London bus has taken its place among the museum’s legendary collection. It’s not just a pretty face, either. Visitors can dive into the cutting-edge tech that makes EV buses the future of sustainable travel.
What’s Onboard?
Hop in the driver’s seat or take a seat upstairs—this exhibit gives you the full EV bus experience. Expect:- High-res digital screens from Navaho to display route info in full colour.
- Hanover Displays’ digital destination signs, which are crisp and easy to read.
- A Zenobē charger demo—watch it “power up” the batteries.
- Cameras replacing traditional mirrors, making this ride as safe as it is sleek.
It’s like being on a real route, minus the traffic jams.
A Bus That’s Changing London
The Wrightbus Electroliner isn’t your typical double-decker. It’s a zero-emission powerhouse with a 200-mile range and rapid charging capability. Transport UK London Bus has already rolled out over 100 Electroliners across London since 2023. Inside, these buses boast skylights on the top deck and passenger-friendly interiors, all while delivering cleaner air and cutting carbon emissions. This exhibit? A near-identical replica of the buses already in service, specially engineered by RGI Bus and Coach Refurbishment to fit the museum’s unique space.
The Dream Team
Bringing this project to life was no small feat. Hats off to the stellar list of suppliers:- Hanover Displays for the digital destination blinds.
- Journeo for the driver’s Camera Monitoring System.
- Navaho for those snazzy next-stop screens.
- Lazzerini for the comfy seating.
- Zenobē for donating an EV charger, just like the ones keeping London’s buses fully charged.
