A Match Made in Travel Heaven

FlixBus UK Managing Director Andreas Schorling couldn’t hold back his excitement as he shared the news alongside trentbarton’s Managing Director, Tom Morgan.

“We have long admired trentbarton’s quality and vision, an operator with generations of experience. This partnership comes at the perfect time to work with Tom and his team.”

This announcement comes hot on the heels of FlixBus linking up with First Bus, marking another big step in their quest for UK coach domination. By the end of 2025, they’re aiming to have over 200 signature green coaches zipping around the country. Ambitious? You bet.

trentbarton Hits the Open Road

Come spring 2025, trentbarton—backed by the Wellglade Group—will roll out nine brand-new Yutong vehicles under the FlixBus banner. Known for running quality local services across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire, trentbarton’s bringing over a century of experience to the long-distance game.

Tom Morgan, trentbarton’s Managing Director, is all in.

“FlixBus is pioneering a new, golden era of express coach services, so this partnership was an unmissable opportunity to join its growing network and represents a new venture within the group best known for trentbarton. We’re excited to bring our experience and high standards of quality to FlixBus passengers,”

“This partnership represents a new chapter for trentbarton and a long-term investment in our company’s growth.”

Drivers in the Spotlight

trentbarton isn’t just about shiny new buses. Their drivers were recently crowned the best in the UK in the latest Transport Focus survey. That’s right—passengers love them. And with this new venture on the horizon, trentbarton’s on the hunt for more top-tier drivers to join the team.

Schorling summed it up nicely:

“Our strategy to achieve market leadership through partnerships with respected, high-quality operators is delivering phenomenal results.”

What’s Next?

With partnerships blossoming and routes multiplying, FlixBus is setting the stage for a greener, more connected future. Whether you’re planning your next trip or just curious about what’s changing on the UK’s roads, keep an eye out. The future of coach travel is here and it’s looking bright—just like those iconic bright green FlixBus coaches.
