Bus services across the Liverpool City Region are set for a major transformation, with plans for a fully publicly-run bus network moving forward at pace. The introduction of a franchised system will see services brought under public control for the first time in nearly 40 years, promising more frequent buses, better connections and improved infrastructure. Trainlink 319 Bus Service Connects Skelmersdale to Kirkby Rail & Bus Station

From Sunday 22nd January 2023, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, Stagecoach Merseyside will be operating a new daily express service between Skelmersdale and Kirkby Railway Station (Kirkby Row)/Town Centre to link into Liverpool and the wider Liverpool City Region transport network.

Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire

The express Trainlink 319 bus service will connect with onward rail journeys from Kirkby Train Station direct in to Liverpool City Centre (Liverpool Central Station).
  • Dedicated stylish and branded Alexander Dennis Enviro300 single deck buses with spacious legroom, comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi and USB charging ports
  • Fast, express bus service between Skelmersdale Concourse via the M58 motorway to Kirkby Train Station and then Kirkby Bus Station
  • Operating from every 30 minutes (Monday to Saturday daytime) hourly of an evening and Sundays
  • Bus times are synched with train times for quick connections from Kirkby Train Station to Liverpool Central Station
  • Great value range of tickets — adult singles at just £2 and unlimited weekly travel just £6
  • Operated in partnership with Lancashire County Council and funded by HM Government
The service will operate daily, up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime and every hour Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday daytime.
