Greater Manchester has taken a bold step in public transport, completing the historic re-regulation of its bus network. This milestone, the first in England in 40 years, represents a seismic shift in how the city-region connects its communities, promotes sustainability and drives economic growth. The transformation is part of the Bee Network, an ambitious vision for a fully integrated, “London-style” public transport system by 2025.

A Celebration Of The Industry from Pelican Bus & Coach

Pelican Bus and Coach will exhibit its current Yutong coaches and buses at the forthcoming Euro Bus Expo, with Managing Director Richard Crump of the Castleford dealership describing the event as "a celebration" of the industry.

A battery-electric TCe12 coach for Coatham Coaches, a mid-sized, rear-engined TC9 in PSVAR ready format for Mainline Coaches of South Wales, a GT12 tourer for a customer to be confirmed, and an E12 battery-electric bus will be on display within the indoor space.

The latter vehicle will be formally handed over to Carmarthenshire County Council during Euro Bus Expo, where it will be used on the TrawsCymru network in Wales.

It is one of eight such buses, each are equipped with dual CCS2 DC charging sockets for quick battery replenishment, Lazzerini coach-style seats, and the Journeo Edge intelligent gateway for cloud-connected services. Ian Downie, Head of Yutong Sales, described the batch as "very high specification vehicles", completed by Pelican Bus and Coach in the UK.

Pelican will have a second Yutong TCe12 battery-electric coach available for demonstration to operators in the interactive Zero Emission Zone outside the halls, in addition to the vehicles on static display in the main show hall.

Euro Bus Expo will be held between the 1st and 3rd November 2022 at the NEC Birmingham. To register for a free trade pass to attend, visit eurobusxpo.com.
