Greater Manchester has taken a bold step in public transport, completing the historic re-regulation of its bus network. This milestone, the first in England in 40 years, represents a seismic shift in how the city-region connects its communities, promotes sustainability and drives economic growth. The transformation is part of the Bee Network, an ambitious vision for a fully integrated, “London-style” public transport system by 2025.

Manchester Airport Expands Its Ground Transportation Fleet with Two Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Buses

Manchester Airport has added two new 10.8m long British-built Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses, they are equipped with bespoke luggage racks. The vehicles are outfitted with the award-winning Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology, which enables the Zemo Partnership to certify them as Low Emission Buses.

The airport, which serviced over 30 million people per year prior to the pandemic, purchased these new buses directly from Alexander Dennis. They join a similar pair leased earlier this year through Mistral, and a fifth Enviro200 is also on order.

Head of Customer Transport at Manchester Airport, Hardik Modha, said:
“Modern and easily accessible buses are an important part of our service delivery for our customers and we’re pleased to be able to put these two new Alexander Dennis buses into service for the busy summer months.”

Charlie Miller, Alexander Dennis Senior Regional Sales Manager, added:
“It’s always a pleasure to work with Hardik and the team at Manchester Airport and we appreciate their repeat orders which show that with its combination of easy access and low emissions, as well as the availability of luggage racking, our Enviro200 is the right vehicle for ground operations at airports.”
